The labs of SynthImmune PIs Christian Klein and Franziska Thomas have published a paper in the journal Angewandte Chemie entitled “Peptide Thioester and Triazole Derivatives Through On-Resin Dual-Modification of Peptide Thiosulfonates”.
In it, the authors present an on-resin dual-modification strategy for peptides that comprises S-alkynylation of peptide thiosulfonates and regioselective iridium-catalyzed azide–thioalkyne cycloaddition. Their method provides access to peptides with intricate non-canonical modifications, being compatible with complex peptides, alkynes, and azides. They also present the structure-activity relationship for triazole-modified dengue virus protease inhibitors.
