The labs of SynthImmune PIs Alessia Ruggieri, Joachim Spatz, Ilia Platzman, Oliver Fackler, and Kevin Jahnke have published a paper in the journal Nature Communications entitled “Stress granule phase separation in stress-responsive cytosolic extract-in-oil droplets”.
In it, the authors present their discovery of seven previously unrecognised stress granule components involved in signalling pathways. This discovery was made using their newly developed emulsion-based microfluidics method called ‘cytosolic extracts-in-oil droplets’, which proves a versatile and cost-effective screening platform for future mechanistic and therapeutic studies.
