The lab of SynthImmune PI and co-spokesperson Kerstin Göpfrich has posted a preprint entitled “Programmable Edge-to-Edge Assembly of RNA Nanostructures”.
In it, the authors introduce a new RNA-RNA connector for the construction of complex three-dimensional RNA nanostructures. The alpha kissing loop (alphaKL) is a compact, sequence programmable RNA connector that enables edge-to-edge helix association. Adding alphaKL to the synthetic biology toolbox expands the structural design space of programmable RNA nanostructures.
