We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral candidate who wants to work in an international, highly collaborative environment to employ various microfluidics-based approaches to successfully sort immune cells by size. This extremely interdisciplinary project is focused on developing microfluidic systems to sort elite immune cells according to various parameters and characterize them further in microphysiological systems.
The successful candidate will be working under the supervision of Dr. Sadaf Pashapour and Prof. Dr. Kerstin Göpfrich. The project is embedded in a collaboration between the Institute of Molecular Systems Engineering and Advanced Materials (IMSEAM) and the Centre for Molecular Biology (ZMBH) at Heidelberg University within the Cluster of Excellence SynthImmune.

Your Profile:
- PhD degree in Bioengineering, Biosciences and related fields
- Experience with Microfluidics workflow is a major advantage
- Experience with CAD designing (QCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion360, Blender) is
beneficial - Cell culture experience (Immunostaining, 3D cell culture) and experience with
Fluorescence, Confocal and/or Widefield Microscopy are a plus - Excellent English writing and communication skills (preferably grant writing experience)
- Open to new technologies and eager to learn various new techniques
- High degree of motivation, enthusiasm for research, very good organizational skills
